Alan was born in East London, South Africa, and began his career in law enforcement after completing his schooling. He served with distinction in the South African Police, holding positions as a detective, undercover narcotics agent, and member of the Security Branch. His service included deployments to the conflict zones of Rhodesia in 1974 and Angola in 1979. Following his resignation from the police, Alan transitioned to the private sector as a Risk Manager for an American company based in Johannesburg. He later worked as an Undercover Manager for an international investigations firm operating on the outskirts of Cape Town.
As a seasoned Private Investigator, Alan has played a key role in uncovering critical evidence in several high-profile cases. In 2005, he exposed significant misconduct in the “Knysna Murders” investigation, which led to the conviction of Heinrich van Rooyen under questionable circumstances. That same year, he investigated the Inge Lotz case, revealing a substantial cover-up and a flawed prosecution against Fred van der Vyver, orchestrated by the same corrupt senior police director in conjunction with willing prosecutors.
Through meticulous research and independent investigation, Alan reconstructed a “True Timeline” in the Inge Lotz case—one that had been suppressed by authorities. He identified five persons of interest, all linked to the case with compelling evidence. Alan believes that, if handled correctly, the case could be resolved speedily and those responsible brought to justice.
Alan is actively assisting in uncovering the truth behind a major cover-up by the South African government following the suspicious 1967 crash of the SAA passenger aircraft Rietbok off Kayser’s Beach, in which 25 lives were lost. His next project turns to the high-profile 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Praia da Luz, Portugal—an investigation that is already well underway.
